Kitchen Installation & Garage Conversions in Nottingham
From a replacement kitchen to a garage converted into family living space, RCS coordinates kitchen installation, electrical, plumbing and associated building work across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire. Based in Hucknall, we help bring the room and its services together within one agreed scope.

One coordinated scope for the kitchen and the room around it
A kitchen project can involve much more than fitting units. The existing floor, appliance supplies, lighting, water, waste and finishes all affect the result. We assess those requirements alongside the proposed kitchen layout so the work can be planned in the right sequence.
- Kitchen units, worktops, islands and associated joinery within the agreed specification
- Electrical alterations, appliance supplies, sockets and lighting
- Plumbing, waste connections and associated heating alterations
- Floor preparation, flooring, plastering, decoration and making good
- Building work needed for an extension or conversion, subject to the assessed scope
- Final connections, snagging and relevant completion information
Garage-to-kitchen conversions
An attached garage can present challenges that an existing kitchen does not: floor levels, the condition of the structure, access and the route for new services all need consideration. Send us your ideas and any drawings so we can discuss what the space would need before a quotation is confirmed.
Our Arnold project brought an attached garage and storage area into use as a fully serviced family kitchen. The work included floor correction, electrical distribution, water and waste connections, heating alterations, gas rerouting and kitchen installation.

Kitchen refurbishment and extension completion in Hucknall
At Laxton Drive in Hucknall, RCS took over an unfinished extension and coordinated the remaining work through to a completed kitchen and living area. The package included a kitchen rewire, lighting, plumbing, flooring, appliance connections, an island and final finishing.
If you have inherited an unfinished project, we first need to understand what has been installed, what remains and which areas require further investigation. That review helps establish a practical scope for completing the work.

How your kitchen project moves forward
- Discuss the space. Share photographs, your proposed layout, location and preferred timescale. Tell us whether you are replacing a kitchen, altering the room or converting another space.
- Assess the work. Review the existing building and services, the kitchen specification, access and any drawings or project requirements.
- Agree the quotation and programme. Define the included work, responsibilities, materials, assumptions and any provisional items before the work starts.
- Coordinate installation and handover. Sequence the trades and deliveries, agree any additional work before proceeding, then review the finish and relevant completion documents.
What to send for a kitchen quotation
Start with your postcode, photographs of the room, approximate dimensions and any kitchen supplier drawings or appliance specifications. Include the changes you want, your preferred timescale and whether the property will remain occupied. If the project includes an extension or conversion, send the available building drawings and approval documents too.
Costs depend on the existing condition, building alterations, service requirements and chosen kitchen specification. We assess those details before confirming a price; the Arnold and Hucknall case studies illustrate different project scopes, rather than standard package prices.
Comparing kitchen installation quotations
Compare the work included as well as the total price. A fitting quotation and a full room refurbishment can cover very different responsibilities. Before choosing a contractor, check these points against the same kitchen drawings and specification:
- Supply and fitting: who supplies the units, worktops, appliances and fittings, and who checks deliveries and missing parts?
- Preparation: does the price cover removal of the existing kitchen, waste disposal, floor correction and making good?
- Building services: which electrical, water, waste and heating alterations are included, and which depend on a survey?
- Finishes and handover: are flooring, plastering, decoration, final connections and relevant completion documents included?
- Allowances and changes: what is provisional or excluded, and how will additional work be priced and agreed?
Our Farley’s Lane kitchen and dining refurbishment shows why that detail matters: the project included subfloor reconstruction, ceiling work, new services, underfloor heating and tiling alongside the kitchen installation.
Frequently asked questions
Can you work from a kitchen supplier’s design?
Yes. Send the layout and specification so we can review the installation alongside the building, electrical and plumbing requirements. The Arnold project shows how a supplier’s design related to the completed room.
Can you include electrical and plumbing work?
Yes. These can be coordinated with the kitchen and building works within the agreed scope. We establish appliance requirements and connection positions before installation.
Do you take on unfinished kitchen projects?
We can assess an incomplete project and discuss the remaining work. Existing installations and any missing information need reviewing before the scope, price and programme are agreed.
Where do you work?
