Arnold — Garage-to-Kitchen Conversion

The project
RCS converted an attached garage and storage area in Arnold into a fully serviced family kitchen. The space had no suitable heating or utility provision, and the existing concrete floor was not ready to accept a domestic kitchen finish.
Other contractors had advised that the conversion was impractical. RCS instead developed a coordinated solution covering the floor, water, waste, gas, heating and electrical requirements, bringing the complete scope under one accountable team.
From the kitchen design to the finished room
The original Benchmarx visuals supplied to the client set out the kitchen layout, with light gloss base and tall cabinets, wood-effect wall cupboards and a continuous worktop. The client’s new photographs show those main design features in the kitchen installed by RCS.
The oven tower and corner return lead into the main worktop run, with the hob, drawers and sink arranged along the same side of the room. The contrasting cabinet finishes and under-cabinet lighting carry the overall design into the finished space.

The original designs were illustrative: finished details, including the flooring, window and fittings, differ from the visuals. The photographs show the actual completed installation, with no generated additions or retouching.
The challenge
The conversion had to introduce every service a modern kitchen requires while working around the constraints of the original garage. This included correcting and levelling the floor, rerouting the gas supply, extending the heating system and providing dedicated electrical distribution for the new appliances.

The outcome
A space previously considered unsuitable was transformed into a practical, fully serviced family kitchen.
